The LSU AgCenter and the School of Plant, Environmental and Soil Sciences will present the 23rd annual Baton Rouge Spring Garden Show and Plant Sale March 7 to 9 at the John M. Parker Coliseum on the LSU campus.
The show will begin on Friday, March 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. with live music. The full show will run Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. All three days will include numerous vendors selling beautiful plants for your home, garden or landscape.
"The show offers a wide variety of plants including vegetables, herbs, flowers, native plants, fruit trees and more all in location," said Brayden Echols, SPESS administrative coordinator and this year's show chairperson. "It's the perfect place to pick up everything you need to spruce up your spring landscape."
It's a family friendly event and tradition for many Baton Rouge locals. Each year there is an "ask the experts" table with extension agents and faculty from the AgCenter where visitors can ask questions about plants, pests, gardening and problems. There is a children's section providing fun for the whole family.
General admission is $10 per person, and children 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. LSU and Southern University students can get in free with a student ID.
This year, in addition to the garden show, the AgCenter will also provide a speaker series.
