Held annually on Memorial Day weekend, this race offers a challenge for all age groups to 13 years old, and a chance to meet other kids from 12 communities! The day is split into 5 races, and the Spearfish Rec trail system is monitored with volunteers. The Duathlon includes biking and running, while the Triathlon includes indoor swimming (BHSU pool with lifeguards), biking and running. A Triathlon relay, allowing 3 participants for each event, is offered this year. Strider bike races, complete with a track and bikes, is offered at Spearfish Park in the morning. Awards ceremonies are held after each race, and trophies are given to the first 3 places for each boys and girls. A raffle drawing offers exciting prizes, one drawing held after the Duathlon races, and another drawing held after the Triathlon events.
