In honor of this year's Black History Month, SAPL would like to invite you to watch a film at one of our branch locations. This year we are highlighting the work of Black Directors and their contributions to filmmaking. All films in this year's Black History Month Film Series were directed by directors of African or African American descent. Note: this is an Adult Services event, and this film may not be suitable for younger audiences. Seats are first come, first serve.

American Fiction: Monk is a frustrated novelist who's fed up with the establishment that profits from Black entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes. To prove his point, he uses a pen name to write an outlandish Black book of his own, a book that propels him to the heart of hypocrisy and the madness he claims to disdain.
