Bring your folding chairs and blankets!

Smell that smoke, eat some competition-style BBQ, play in the family zone, and watch some of the top cookers in Middle Tennessee compete in the KCBS-sanctioned Dr. George Smith BBQ Brawl. This event annually attracts several thousand visitors to a day of family fun and adventure. Come on down, experience the aroma, and enjoy eating some of the finest BBQ east of the Mississippi River and west of the Great Smoky Mountains. We will roll out the red carpet and keep the lights on.

This beloved community celebration brings together the smoky aromas, sizzling grills, and Southern rock music that define spring in Tennessee. Proudly sponsored by MTE (Boss Hog Sponsor), Swanson Companies, and Dick & Martha Curl, this free event welcomes everyone to enjoy the festivities and food beginning at 10 a.m.

Attendees can experience the excitement of the Dr. George Smith KCBS BBQ Brawl, where professional and backyard competitors from across the southeast compete for a $6,200 purse. For just $15, festival-goers can participate in the coveted People's Choice Competition, sampling generous portions of pulled pork and casting their votes. The day will be filled with live performances from the Jeff Woods Band and The Midnight Riders - Tribute to The Allman Brothers Band, complemented by food trucks, craft vendors, and family activities including barnyard animals. All proceeds support Rutherford County non-profits, making this free community event both entertaining and meaningful.
