Dead Man's Party: Tribute to Oingo Boingo
Dead Man’s Party is the premier Oingo Boingo tribute band, made up of some of Southern California’s most talented and accomplished musicians. This dynamic 8-piece ensemble captures the energy, musicianship, and quirky theatricality that made Oingo Boingo a SoCal sensation.
Formed in 2001, Dead Man’s Party has developed a reputation for delivering an electrifying live show that replicates the sound and energy of the original band. From their debut performance at the House of Blues Anaheim on October 26, 2001, to countless packed venues across the region, the band has consistently thrilled both diehard Boingo fans and new audiences alike.
Featuring a lead vocalist often dubbed “Danny Elfman, Jr.,” along with expert musicians on guitar, bass, drums, keys, saxophone, trombone, and trumpet, Dead Man’s Party brings the full Oingo Boingo experience to life on stage.
The tribute has earned praise and support from members of the original band. Steve Bartek, John Avila, and John “Vatos” Hernandez have all performed with Dead Man’s Party, while other former Boingo members have attended shows and publicly endorsed the band. Most notably, Oingo Boingo founder Richard Elfman has given his enthusiastic approval, stating, “I officially Elfo-approve them.”
Whether you're a longtime Boingo fan or a first-time listener, Dead Man’s Party delivers a high-octane celebration of one of the most unique bands of the '80s and beyond—an unforgettable tribute to the legacy of Oingo Boingo.
