Film Screening: Max Roach: The Drum also Waltzes

Max Roach: The Drum Also Waltzes is an award-winning documentary about the groundbreaking drummer, bandleader, composer and activist Max Roach. It follows Roach’s life and music from the revolutionary period of Bebop Jazz through the years of the Civil Rights Movement into the Hip Hop era.  The film was produced and directed by Sam Pollard and Ben Shapiro.  Following the viewing, the audience is invited to join in a discussion led by TU faculty and students.  Refreshments will be served.
