The SPCO’s ever “superb” (New York Times) violinist Eunice Kim takes center stage in one of the most enduring violin concertos of all time, paired with Beethoven’s first symphony. In addition to these popular orchestral works are Jean Françaix’s colorful and delightful dances for ten winds, taken from his ballet Les malheurs de Sophie (Sophie’s Misfortunes), which he wrote after the famed 19th century French book of parables for children.
