Cynthia Pascal: A Retrospective honors the work of the late American artist, Cynthia Pascal. Born and raised in New York, Pascal earned degrees in social work, practicing as a psychotherapist for over 40 years while simultaneously cultivating a distinct artistic voice. Her artistic journey began with formal training under Arthur Sternberg at Old Westbury College and the New School for Social Research in New York City.

Pascal’s work traverses abstract, expressionistic, and impressionistic styles, often exploring themes of the female experience. Her early pieces depict women in crisis-fearful, resigned, yet brimming with life-while her later works celebrate female strength, confidence, and joy. Using acrylics, oils, pastels, and clay, Pascal created art that is deeply emotive and psychologically compelling.

Pascal exhibited in numerous galleries, including The Blue Door Gallery, The Whitman Art Gallery, and The Bleeker and Terra Galleries. She continued creating art until 2022, passing away at the age of 92. This retrospective highlights her vast contributions to contemporary feminist art and her enduring impact on the artistic community.
