Celebrate the beginning of the California’s mushroom season on the Mendocino Coast. The Mushroom Season starts with the first flush of mushrooms generally following the first inch of rain in October. Among the early mushrooms are golden chanterelles and Boletes (porcinis). Later season mushrooms include candy cap, hedgehog, black trumpet, yellow foot, followed by morels and black truffles that grow above ground in the Spring.
