Based on the best-selling graphic novel by Joann Sfar, The Rabbi’s Cat is an animated feature film that tells of a rabbi and his sharp-tongued feline, a philosopher brimming with scathing humor and affection for the rabbi’s teenage daughter. Set in 1930s Algeria, The Rabbi’s Cat is an intersection of Jewish, Arab and French culture that explores God, lust, death, phrenology, religious intolerance, and interspecies love.
