Start your new year off on the right *wing*.
Join experienced guides for the first bird tour of the new year and discover the birds that call the shorelines of Goose Island State Park home! We'll learn about and identify the birds we see on our route, which includes saltwater marshes, bays, and shorelines with many south Texas specialties likely to be seen.
Where: Meet at the Day-use Area
Distance: Be prepared to walk up to 1.5 miles over flat terrain
Bring: Binoculars, drinking water, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate clothing. The park offers a limited number of binoculars available for loan, but it is best to bring your own.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Pass.
- Reserving your day pass in advance is strongly encouraged. Use self-pay station when office is closed.
- Program may be cancelled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
