Start 2025 on the right foot and join a park interpreter at the trailhead for the Little Missouri Trail located in the campground. First day hikes are a time-honored tradition to get out and enjoy nature on the first day of the year. This guided hike will take you down a paved path to the Little Missouri River. Dress for the outdoors, wear sturdy shoes, and be prepared to walk about 1.5=miles over a paved trail.

Please note: this hike will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. All park facilities will be closed on January 1 for New Year's Day, and diamond searching will not be allowed during the hike. The park will reopen at 8 a.m. on January 2.
