First Day Hike, to Prairie Branch
Join us on a volunteer-led hike to Lake Raven
Kick off the New Year with boots on the trails of your favorite Texas State Parks! We have been celebrating bringing in the New Year with recreational opportunities around the state. And this morning a group will be going out from the Nature Center to visit one of our most popular scenic trails.
The Prairie Branch Trail is one of our most popular trails, especially for first timers. On a trail through the hardwoods, wetlands and along the lake, you will be amazed by what you might see.
This hike is about 3 miles from the Nature Center. Additional loops and detours can be taken. Volunteers will be on the trail, but you can hike at your own pace. Bring water and wear trail/weather appropriate gear.
This program is not accessible as there is uneven terrain, roots and sand.
This program is weather dependent, please follow us on social media for more information. The program is free with your day pass.
