The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) is gearing up for our quarterly free Family Arts Day from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the museum located in Beaumont’s historic downtown. The theme for this quarter is Deconstruction/Reconstruction and coincides with our current exhibitions on display in the main galleries.

Families can enjoy a variety of art activities related to the winter exhibitions, Adrian Esparza: Remnants of Distance and Japheth Asiedu-Kwarteng: Burden of Proof. Activities will include 3D string art, Kente palate art, spirograph drawing, figural sculptures and temporary tattoos. A ball-park style concession stand will be available to purchase hot dogs, nachos, chips, pizza, water and sodas. Cookies and punch will be available for free.

All attendees are welcome to enter a free raffle for a chance to win a gift basket full of art supplies. Three raffle drawings will take place throughout the day. Dancers from the Doll Girl Dance Studio will also perform at 11 a.m and 12:30 p.m. under the porte cache.

Family Arts Days are always free and open to the public. AMSET hosts four Family Arts Days a year, each correlating with our current exhibitions on view in the main galleries. These events are always on Saturdays and feature a variety of art activities for children of all ages, as well as a rotation of local performers. These quarterly events are a wonderful opportunity for you and your family to visit the museum and learn about the exciting programs and exhibitions that AMSET has to offer our community.
