Back by popular demand, Golden Lane returns to Highfield along with members of the Maureen Haley School of Irish Dance for what promises to be a rousing performance. This group of musicians from the Southeastern New England area specializes in performing Irish music like jigs and reels in a traditional style. They also perform songs in English and Gaelic. The band is made up of Mark Oien and Fern Tamagini-O’Donnell, on fiddles; Colin Everett, on the uilleann pipes and whistle; John Macdonald, on guitar, banjo, and vocals; Bill Black, on bouzouki, banjo, and vocals; and Pat Black, on bodhrán.
The group’s performances are always “family-friendly” and interaction with the audience for questions about the music or the instruments, kids dancing, clapping and foot-tapping, are always welcome.
