A Shawnee Tradition
Sing along with your friends and neighbors, local soloists, and live orchestra as we raise our voices in Handel’s immortal masterpiece. This festive community concert is a do-not-miss for your holiday schedule. Lead by local conductor and concertmaster, full orchestra, local soloists, then you, the audience (and chorus) in a magical experience of George Frideric Handel’s Messiah. Each audience member receives a musical score and is invited to sing the chorus numbers with the orchestra. The concert will be held rain or shine in the Worthington Ballroom.
Come early and dine in the River Room restaurant.
Doors open for the event at 7 pm, Concert Starts at 7:30 pm on December 20, 2024, in the Worthington Ballroom of The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. Ticket prices for Messiah are a $10.00 donation, requested at the door for the orchestra and to keep our scores in good condition. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
We are thrilled to welcome a new conductor this year! Nicholas Sienkiewicz is the
Artistic Director of the Lehigh Valley Chorale, Director of the Youth Pride Chorus and an Instructor at the NYFA. This young man recently received his MM from Indiana University in 2022 preceded by his BMA & BS from Western Michigan University in 2020.
