Paper quilling is an art form that employs strips of paper wrapped around a quilling tool and then pressed into various shapes. These are then glued down to make shapes and images for framed art, greeting cards, gift bags, and boxes. Lynn will provide the snowflake pattern and other examples you may make in class.

It is believed that quilling was first practiced in ancient Egypt and then became popular in Renaissance France and Italy as well as 18th-century England and Europe. Colonists brought quilling with them to America.
