Gualala Arts is thrilled to present the Honky Tonk Blues Revival on Saturday, November 15 at 6 p.m. in Coleman Hall—a lively evening of music that blends blues, Appalachian gospel, and honky tonk traditions into one unforgettable experience.
Headlining the event is HeartStrings, the acclaimed duo of Richard Lotspeich on guitar and vocals and Ted Berman on Celtic harp. Their unique combination of the guitar and the “blues” harp offers a new interpretation of classic blues. Going back to Elmore James, Jimmy Reed and Muddy Waters up to Ry Cooder and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Joining them are local favorites Sue Bohlin on keyboards, A Ty Kun on guitar and vocals, Kevin McCoy on mandolin and vocals, and Christine Kan on violin, each adding their own vibrant energy to the mix. The evening also features the beloved Angel Band—comprised of Kevin, Christine, Richard, Ty, and Ted—performing spirited Appalachian gospel tunes that have echoed through generations. Audiences can also look forward to original songs by Ty Kun and a selection of honky tonk gems that celebrate the heart of American musical tradition.
Tickets are $15 in advance, +$5 at the door, available at the Dolphin Gallery, Gualala Arts Center, and online at GualalaArts.org. Don’t miss this toe-tapping celebration of roots music and community spirit.
