One of Boise's most unique and well preserved historic gems is the old R.Z. Johnson apartment building, now the home of Ochos Cocktail and Wine Bar. Designed by well known architect John C. Paulsen in 1892, the Johnson Building is the last remaining example of the many structures he constructed in Boise. We will begin our tour with a handcrafted cocktail inside Ochos with a presentation of the building's history, including a tour of the premises before taking a walk through Boise's original downtown core. Historian and guide Mark Iverson will regale you with tales of crime, life in the brothels and the mass production and impact of booze in old Boise City. A small amount of wholesome history will be included! Upon conclusion of our walkabout, we'll return to Ochos for another libation and questions.
The tour runs approximately 2 hours with an hour of walking, so please bring appropriate footwear and bring your own supply of water if your easily parched!
Tours are for ages 21 and up!
