Taken with a grain of salt and lime, songs written by Hollin McKay can take you from a heart felt waltz to a satirical snapshot of life in the state he calls home. Hollin is a performing songwriter from Bandera, Texas. His music, best categorized as Americana, offers clever storytelling with thoughtful insight into the human condition. From an article in New York Times Style Magazine by Paula Disbrowe to a Star on the South Texas Music Walk of Fame, you can see a clear impression Hollin has made through what he creates. Hollin was born in Lubbock and raised in the hills surrounding the Medina River. He uses these landscapes as a backdrop for many of the characters in his songs. In addition to his solo material, Hollin has written and played with his brother, Noel, for many years. Several of Hollin’s songs recorded and released as part of The McKay Brothers can be heard on radio stations across Texas. The stages Hollin calls home include Gruene Hall, Luckenbach, and the legendary John T.
