Join us for the opening reception of Sports Illustrators and meet the curators!

Sports Illustrators, curated by the Illustration Institute, explores the stories of sports and athletes through visual art. Sports are the source of popular lore, legend, tall tales and poignant histories across cultures. This exhibition showcases renowned illustrators’ vision of a wide range of sports. Plus, we’ll have light refreshments and tasty snacks to keep the inspiration flowing!

Scott and Nancy Nash of the Illustration Institute will be on hand tour the exhibit and share stories about the artwork and the artists behind it.

6–9pm: Brazilian Experience: with Bossa Nova band Os Clavelitos

Os Clavelitos is an “American Samba” band based in New York City, who creates original music combining traditional Brazilian rhythms (samba, baiao, bossa nova, and frevo) with English lyrics. With band members from Brazil, Japan, and the U.S., the six piece ensemble celebrates Brazil’s rich musical heritage, while incorporating their eclectic performing backgrounds in “Latin”, indie, jazz, pop, and folkloric styles.
