On Memorial Day, it’s customary to spend time remembering and honoring the men and women who died while in the military service of our country.

Join us on Memorial Day and throughout the weekend to create new memories and traditions at this special venue dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of American Soldiers.

Schedule

10 a.m. - Memorial Day Remembrance and Moment of Silence - A call to remember their lives, their courage, their legacy and their service. Join Museum staff, volunteers and other visitors for the playing of taps and a moment of silence.
Museum Lobby.

10 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1–3 p.m. - Hands-on History - Explore equipment and uniforms like American Soldiers have used in the Revolutionary War.
Army Theater Lobby.

11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. - Tiny Troops Story Time  - Share in a read-aloud story time followed by a special activity. Best for children 3-6 years old.
Experiential Learning Center.

11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. - Documentary Screening - “A Journey to Remember.” - Explore the personal journey of three Gold Star Families who share their pain, strength and courage following the unexpected loss of their loved ones.
Veterans’ Hall.

3 p.m. - National Moment of Silence  - Visitors and staff are asked to pause for one minute to honor and respect those who died for our freedom.
Throughout the Museum.

All day - Outdoor Flag Display - Follow a special outdoor flag display along the Path of Remembrance and the Unit Tribute wall.

Poppy Paper Flower Craft - The red poppy is a nationally recognized symbol of sacrifice worn by Americans since World War I to honor those who served and died for our country in all wars. Create a paper poppy as part of a special Museum Memorial Day display.
