10:30–11:15 AM: Memorial Day Ceremony
We are honored to invite you back to Lakewood for this treasured tradition. The ceremony will be held at Soldiers Memorial, located in Section 24

Ceremony Band: The Minnesota Freedom Band

The Minnesota Freedom Band is a Twin Cities-based LGBTQIA+ community band. The band was organized in 1982 to provide an opportunity for LGBTQ+ musicians and their allies to play music as their authentic selves in a safe, inclusive environment.

11:30 AM – 3:00 PM: Memorial Day Activities in Welcome Center

Join us in the Welcome Center following the Memorial Day Ceremony for refreshments and self-guided activities. Our friendly staff will also be available in the Welcome Center to answer any questions or concerns. Other activities will be posted as they become available.

1-2pm: Minnesota Community Sings in Chapel

Join Minnesota Community Sings in the Memorial Chapel from 1-2pm to sing along with well-known songs that are reflective of Memorial Day, community, and remembrance.

Lakewood Memorial Chapel

Visit the beautiful and historic Lakewood Memorial Chapel throughout the day. This quiet and reflective space will be open for all to explore from 10am – 4:00pm.
