Residents and friends of Alpine are invited to attend the Alpine City Memorial Day Ceremony at the Alpine City Cemetery. This is an opportunity to join together and honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military, and also honor our living military veterans.
The military-style ceremony will feature an honor guard raising the flag to half mast, a military chaplain offering remarks and a non-denominational prayer, recognition of Alpine's living veterans, a military medley sing-along led by the Alpine Youth Council, remarks from a military speaker, and "Taps" to honor the fallen.
Light refreshments will follow, with an opportunity to meet and speak with our Alpine veterans. Expressing your gratitude with a simple “Thank you for serving for me” is always appropriate and appreciated. Veterans are encouraged to wear any uniform or military memorabilia they have. There is no uniform requirement—wear what you have and let people know who you are!
Veterans wishing to present their service flag during the ceremony should contact Lynn Higgins at 801-319-2264 or [email protected]. Seating is limited, so feel free to bring folding chairs.
