Nichols residents are invited to join us as we remember those who lost their lives protecting our country and to honor Nichols residents who served. This year we will be recognizing Lt. Col. Robert E. Mraz - 11th Light Infantry Brigade Reconnaissance Platoon Leader in Vietnam, Military Assistance Command Economic and Rural Development Cadre Advisor in Vietnam. Upon return to the U.S., LTC Mraz remained in the Active Reserve. Highlight assignments include General Supply Company Commander, Logistics and Quartermaster leadership positions, Battalion Commander of the 395th Supply and Service Battalion. LTC Mraz’s military awards include: Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards,) Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, a Unit Citation in support of Operation Desert Storm, and various other service and overseas ribbons. The ceremony will be held rain or shine. We hope to see you there!
