Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony 2025 "Honor Them"
Memorial Day, first observed over one hundred fifty years ago and then known as Decoration Day, is a day all Americans should take a moment to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our great nation.
The entire community is invited to gather for a program of reflection, prayer, spoken word, poetry, and music on Monday, May 26, in our wonderful town of Summerville. It will be held in Hutchinson Square, Main Stage, from 2:30pm-3:30pm. As part of the national observance of the holiday, a ONE MINUTE MOMENT OF SILENT REFLECTION will occur at 3pm. The Msgr. Richard C. Madden Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly 1900 will host the event.
The 2025 Tribute Memorial Wall of the Fallen will be on display in Hutchinson Square. Please submit your loved ones’ name, military branch, year of death, and conflict name to [email protected] for a Badge of Honor placement on the 2025 Tribute Wall. In addition, if you wish, please submit a brief memorial to the life of your loved one sharing their response to the call of military service, a particular family memory or any attribute you wish to share. Understand that ceremony time limitation may prevent all memorials submitted to be read.
So, tell your family, friends, and neighbors and grab your lawn chair or blanket and come on out!
