American Legion Post 139 will host its first annual Veterans Art Exhibit Memorial Day weekend, May 23-26, 2025. This free public event invites the community to experience powerful, deeply personal works of art created by local veteran artisans.

This unique exhibition highlights the creative talents of veterans and family members who have transformed their military experiences into meaningful works of art. The exhibit will feature a wide range of media, including hand-drawn illustrations, oil paintings, handcrafted pottery, sculpture, and handmade paper crafted from repurposed military uniforms. Many works also incorporate authentic service artifacts-boots, gear, and supplies-serving as both medium and message. Through these creations, veterans explore themes of service, conflict, healing, and duty.

Visitors will not only have the opportunity to view and purchase one-of-a-kind artworks, but also to speak directly with the artists about their military service and creative journeys.

Event Schedule:
Private Opening Reception (Invitation Only):

Friday - 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

This event underscores the American Legion’s ongoing mission to support veterans and their families, advocate for patriotism, and promote wellness through community connection.
