MISTRAL MUSIC, now in its 28^th Season under the artistic direction of flutist Julie Scolnik, offers its annual Valentine concert, SENSE and SENSIBILITY, on Saturday, February 8, at West Parish Church in Andover, and on Sunday, February 9, at St. Paul’s Church in Brookline. The Age of Reason shares the stage with the Romantic Era in a program that includes Beethoven’s sunny String Quintet Op. 29 in a new flute arrangement, Dvorak’s expansive String Sextet in A major with a dream team of Mistral artists, and two short string quartet gems: Puccini’s delicate “Crisantemi,” and the ground-breaking “Strum” by the brilliant young African American composer, Jessie Montgomery.
