On the cusp of the Miles Davis centennial in 2026, the MIT Festival Jazz Ensemble explores the vast influences of Miles Davis’ work as a trumpeter, composer, and bandleader that redefined jazz again and again. Music from Birth of the Cool through Tutu will be featured along with new music inspired by Davis’ groundbreaking legacy. This concert is a collaboration with Prof. Evan Ziporyn’s “Music of Miles Davis” 21M.128 MIT course offered this spring.
