Opening Reception: Falmouth Artists Guild Founders Show with Local Artists from the 1950s and 60s

Falmouth Art Center will celebrate the art that began it all with a show honoring the earliest artists from the Falmouth Artist Guild. The Falmouth Art Center traces its roots to 1950s classes taught by Angelo Cangiamila in his garage in Falmouth Heights.

The following early members of the Artists Guild will have works in the Founders show: Phyllis Kendrick Howard, Edie Bruce, John Bruce, Bud Carey, Zada Clark, Claude Croney, Ann Downs, Joe Downs, Beverley Edwards, Robert Gunning, Charmay Hays, Phyllis Kendrick Howard, Joan Kanwisher, Louise Lane, William Littlefield, San Lyman, Mary Mavor, Jean Ryther, Jeanne Swan, Jon Swan and Milt Williamson.

The Opening Reception for the Falmouth Artists Guild Founders Show is scheduled for Friday, January 10th, from 4-6 pm. This reception is also for two additional January shows, Nature’s Beauty in the Hermann Gallery; and “Ugly” Mugs by Lawrence School students in the Sigel Gallery.

The Falmouth Art Center located at 137 Gifford Street in Falmouth is free and open to the public daily, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm; Saturday 10 am to 2 pm and Sunday 1 to 4 pm. For more information, go to www.FalmouthArt.org or call 508-540-3304.
