Each year, the Patriot All-America Invitational raises funds for the families of fallen and injured servicemembers and first responders, and this year, the amateur golf event dubbed "The College Bowl of Golf" has added live music, Family on the Fairway, and the return of Veterans Village to its lineup.
Slated for Monday, Dec. 29 through Wednesday, Dec. 31 at the Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park and Sterling Grove Golf + Country Club in Surprise and conducted in partnership with the West Valley Mavericks, the Women's Golf Coaches Association and the Golf Coaches Association of America, the 54-hole amateur event welcomes PING All-Americans from the previous season in NCAA Divisions I, II and III. It also features NAIA, NJCAA and AJGA-ranked athletes as well as international team members and special invitees.
Beyond the tournament itself, weekend festivities include live music events for ticket holders, Family on the Fairway, a tour of Luke Air Force Base for the players and a revamped Veterans Village featuring complimentary snacks, non-alcoholic beverages and critical resources and services for veterans and their families. The expanded field will play in the Thunderbolt Invitational, which takes place at Sterling Grove Golf + Country Club in Surprise simultaneously, with the top three finishers earning automatic entry into next year's Patriot All-America Invitational.
Funds raised by both events benefit the West Valley Mavericks Foundation and Folds of Honor, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that offers educational scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled military and first responders.
