This program will blend local military history, select readings, and individual remembrances centered on those who have died in service of our country.

Local historian Wayne Sherrer will share his guide to the Civil War graves at Phillipsburg Cemetery as well as his collection of obituaries of Civil War veterans from the Phillipsburg area, some of which describe the soldiers’
service in rich detail. Wayne is a member of the Phillipsburg Area Historical Society and the Phillipsburg Historical Preservation Advisory.

Community members and Friends of the library will read select poems and passages that reflect on military service, honor, service, and sacrifice.

All attendees will be invited to share personal remembrances of loved ones who have died in service.
