An Afternoon Concert and Multimedia Event by Rene Bouchard!

Featuring Guitarist David Romanelli!

Singer/songwriter and multimedia artist Rene Bouchard is a survivor of complex trauma who lives with trauma-related dissociation. Integral to her healing journey, Rene has explored structural dissociation through creative expression, including the grant-supported project DIALOGUE, a nine-song narrative in which her “parts” wrote songs to each other as a way to cultivate inner cooperation and compassion.

Songs About Trauma Responses and Attachment Styles is an extension of this work. As complex trauma is often the result of attachment wounds and can express through the trauma responses fight, flight, freeze, fawn, collapse, and attach-cry-for-help, this exploration has been a natural progression of her work in DIALOGUE.

Guitarist David Romanelli writes and performs gorgeous lead parts for each song, elevating the work and bringing the best out of the material.

The performance will be contextualized with visual and video art, as well as mental health information and resources.

A licensed social worker specializing in trauma will be on site and available to those who may need support, although the material is careful not to include many direct details of trauma and uses more broad, open, and emotional language.

This performance is free. Contributions to Rene's art fund are encouraged. Find details HERE and at the performance.

Rene is adept at exploring material that can be difficult and heavy with humor and optimism. Her performances are empowering and entertaining. All are welcome.
