Now that Taunton’s 1881 atlas has been digitized, let’s explore how to fully access this exciting new resource! Join the staff of the Norman B. Leventhal Map & Education Center at the Boston Public Library as they focus on what Atlascope is, how to use their 140+ atlas layers across Massachusetts, and the types of information users can uncover within them. Using Atlascope’s innovative tools, discover how drastically Taunton’s landscape has changed over time, such as the shape of the Mill River between Reed & Barton and the Hopewell Mills, manufacturing along the Weir waterfront, and the sprawling homes of Taunton industrialists.
This lecture style program will be presented virtually using Zoom and will be recorded. It is free to attend, but RSVP to receive the link and/or to receive the recording once it has been edited.
