Cinder Cat

Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Cinder Cat unites the searing grit of alt rock with the flair of modern pop to birth smoldering tracks on both the stage and the virtual music space. Frontwoman Cat Nightengale, a fire spinner, Muay Thai kickboxer, Filipino stick fighter, and Peace Corp volunteer, first met David Prestosa at a martial arts and crafts date night at his partner’s home in Ashland, Virginia. After connecting over David’s collection of stringed instruments and Afro-Cuban hand percussion, they recorded sessions that fused Cat’s poetry with David’s electric bass. Cat soon drafted Jeff Hartman, guitarist from her previous band Bass Mint, into their craft. After bonding over punk rock online, Jeff then recruited Ruben Hernandez, Navy Seabee Vet and former house drummer at Mi Hacienda Mexican Restaurant in Midlothian, Virginia into their tribe. Together, they forge lyrical themes of rising from the ashes into incendiary eclectic vibes.
