The Mary Gilbert Group is a 5-piece jazz combo that features seasoned, regional musicians hailing from Midland, Flint, and Detroit. They play a variety of jazz tunes and standards from the Great American Songbook from the sultry bossa nova to the fun of swing to the crooning, smoky ballads of torch. Fronted by vocalist Mary Gilbert, originally from Midland and joined by drummer Mike McHenry, bassist Terry Newman and joined by other musicians, the Mary Gilbert Group has the warm, chilled out feel of a smoky, after-hours club.
