With echoes of Stoppard, Kafka, and the Brothers Grimm, The Pillowman centers on a writer in an unnamed totalitarian state. The writer, Katurian is being questioned by two detectives. His stories resemble recent child murders. As each story is told, the horrific truth of Katurian’s past is revealed.
