Bib pick-up will be at the start of your race, i.e. Potter TH for the 8-milers and McHugh for the 4-milers. Please do not show up more than 45 mins before the start.

All participants are responsible for the $5.00 vehicle parking fee or annual State Parks parking permit. Let’s keep this wonderful trail nice and clean, so if you pack it in please pack it out! There is no shuttle service, so please use the buddy system/carpool.

South Anchorage – Turnagain Arm Trail: This year we will run the Southbound route from Potter to Rainbow. We alternate the course every year between the Northern and the Southern route. The Southern route: The 8-mile course starts at the Potter Trail Head and ends at the Rainbow Trail Head. We will run through the parking lot at McHugh to get intermediate times. The 4-mile course is the same as the last 4 miles of the 8-mile course (starting at McHugh in the lower parking lot), also ending at the Rainbow Trail Head.

The entire length of the trail is comprised of single-track and double-wide soft surface trail. Most of the trail is moderately rocky and rooty, and the entire trail traverses moderately hilly terrain, including some longer and steeper hills. The south-facing topography of the trail means that it is usually remarkably dry if the weather’s been nice, even in the springtime, and the views of Turnagain Arm are especially good before the trees leaf out for the summer.
