North of the River Recreation and Park District (NOR) invites the community to come together and honor our veterans. Join us in creating a sea of red, white, and blue by purchasing a flag for $5 at NORfun.org or in person by visiting the Greenacres Community Center. Your flag will be ‘planted’ by NOR staff and volunteers in our Liberty Garden at Liberty Park on 11225 Brimhall Road, to recognize past, present, and future heroes. Whether you have a veteran in your life or simply want to participate in this meaningful tribute, it’s easy to be part of this powerful visual display of gratitude.

The public display and remembrance ceremony will begin at 9am on November 10. The tribute will include speakers, a presentation of colors, and the National Anthem. This neighborhood display, which will remain throughout the following day on Veterans Day, offers residents a chance to show their appreciation for the brave men and women who have served our country. It also provides families in the North of the River community with a beautiful place for reflection, remembrance, and photographs.
