2025 Town of Wakefield Memorial Day Ceremony on the Upper Common. Each year on Memorial Day the Town of Wakefield honors the Fallen from past wars by reading their names. Students from Wakefield Memorial High School perform the National Anthem and “Taps.” The public plans to witness the presentation of three Medals of Fidelity honoring families of veterans who recently passed away from service-connected injuries. Full Honors are planned with the support of a battery from the 101st Field Artillery Regiment ("Boston Light Artillery") rendering a 21-Gun Salute. The ceremony is outdoors on the Upper Common at the War Memorial, across the street from Town Hall One Lafayette Street.
