159th Wilmington Memorial Day Parade
The Wilmington Memorial Day Committee wants to remind the public of the importance of Memorial Day and the many ways people can still commemorate the meaning of the Day while complying with all social restrictions.
This year the Wilmington Memorial Day Committee will conduct a modified parade and event at the Soldiers and Sailors monument on May 30, 6:00 PM, to honor the dead of all conflicts.
Committee members will gather within social distancing guidelines to lay a wreath and say a few words in honor of all those who have defended this country.
We encourage all who can, to visit Cemeteries and gravesites in Wilmington to decorate them in the spirit of the original Memorial Day, which was then called Decoration Day.
Location:
Parade starts at Delaware Ave and Woodlawn Ave and proceeds down Delaware Ave to the Civil War Monument on Broom St.
