It's almost time for Cazenovia's Winterfest and we are excited to be able to bring you a robust line-up of events including the second annual Winterfest Medallion Hunt!

Last year, our winner found the medallion much too quickly, so this year we plan on making it a bit more challenging! Click here to learn about our 2024 winner.

Here's how it all works...

We've hidden a Cazenovia Winterfest Medallion in a public spot someplace in Cazenovia. Solve the clues, find the medallion and win $250 from Caz Life.

Schedule of Events:

All-Day: Medallion Hunt around Cazenovia: One clue will be posted each morning at 8am on www.facebook.com/CazenoviaNYLife. For rules, regulations, and  (sponsored by Thomas Tait, Realtor)

7AM-12PM: Pancake Breakfast at The American Legion / Post 88 *No RSVP Necessary* What better way to support our local veterans than by stopping into the American Legion during Cazenovia's Winter Fest Weekend! No RSVP necessary, just show up and partake in the fun! Support the cause and get a $5 raffle ticket for your chance to win a $100 gift card to Red Apple! This family friendly event is a great place to enjoy pancakes, sausage and a great cup of coffee with your community members!

9AM-12PM: Cazenovia High School Snow Sculpture Competition at Memorial Park (weather permitting)

9AM-12PM: Galentine's Day at Purpose Coffee Co. Celebrate Galentine's Day at our cozy Coffee House, where friendship is the true flavor of the day! Gather your best girls for a warm, relaxed afternoon filled with specialty coffee, sweet treats, and plenty of laughter. Enjoy our signature lattes, pastries, and exclusive Galentine's Day-themed drinks while catching up with your favorite people. Whether you're crafting the perfect conversation over a cappuccino or indulging in a delicious treat it's the perfect place to toast to friendship and fun. 10AM-4PM: Friends of the Library Pop-Up Book Sale at The Cazenovia Public Library. A summer tradition makes a winter appearance! There will be book bargains galore at our pop-up Friends of the Library Book Sale. These books, usually reserved for the summer sale, will be available for sale this weekend. (Library Community Room)

10AM - 9PM: Public Ice Skating at The Burton Street Rink (BYO skates & weather dependent ).
11AM: Music with Henry (Kids Event) at The Cazenovia Public Library Join in the fun with music for the whole family during the annual Winter Fest weekend. The Library is thrilled to have Henry Howard return to give an interactive musical concert for the whole family. Library events are free and open to the public; sponsored by the Friends of the Cazenovia Public Library. (Library Reference Room)

11AM-SOLD OUT: Fire & Ice Weekend: Cazenovia Mason's FAMOUS Chicken BBQ & Soft Serve Ice Cream at The Nelson Creamery …and on Super Bowl Sunday, they will be serving pulled pork and salt potatoes, but make sure to get your pre-orders in early!
All Day: Cocoa Crawl at the Downtown Shops:

10AM - 5PM: Prim Place pop-up with fun decor at Ink & Paper Bookstore! Also, find a hidden snowflake in the store, and get a discount on your book purchase!

11AM-2PM: Farmstead 1868 will be doing a lavender essential oil distillation demonstration outside 20 I East. Discover the art and science behind creating lavender essential oils! Watch a live demonstration of lavender distillation, ask questions, and learn about the calming benefits of lavender. Whether you're curious about how essential oils are made or looking to add a little warmth and calm to your winter day, this interactive experience is perfect for all ages. 11AM: Cazenovia Winter Fest Pride Market at H. Grey Supply Co. LGBTQIA+ Vendors! D.J.! Our award winning beverages and specialty hot cocoas !!!!! You guys packed the place last year and we're so excited to bring this event back for a 2nd year. Support CNY Local LGBTQIA+ Vendors and Cazenovia Pride while shopping and sipping!

12PM-5PM: S'mores & Firepit at Madison County Distillery Whether we have snow or not, we are excited to bring you a great outdoor event! Dress warmly and cozy up outside at Madison County Distillery for complimentary community s'mores. And be sure to try some of their awesome tacos and specialty cocktails to warm up any winter day!

12PM-9PM: Winter Fest Wine Special at Owera Vineyards Cozy up in this stunning vineyard and enjoy some great shareable pairings to celebrate Winter Fest weekend including your choice of pizza and a wine flight or a cheeseboard and a bottle of wine for just $28.

1PM-3PM: Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides at Lorenzo State Historic Site provided by Lamplit Farm & Nuts in Training Farm There is nothing like gliding across the snow in a horse-drawn sleigh! No reservations are necessary, just show up! In case there is not enough snow, the starting location is subject to change, so please stay tuned to Caz Life social media

1PM-3PM: Ice Sculpture Demonstration from The Ice Farm  in front of the canon at Memorial Park

4:30PM: Lantern-Lit Snow Shoe Hike at Meier's Creek Brewing Company: Join the Cazenovia Preservation Foundation (CPF) as we light up the night for a special evening lantern-lit snowshoe hike during Cazenovia's Winter Fest Celebration. Adult and kid-size snowshoes are available to borrow on a first-come, first-served basis, courtesy of the Friends of Stony Pond (FROSTY). If you plan to borrow shoes, please arrive between

4:00-4:15 p.m. so that we can get everyone outfitted. Also, there is a lantern-making event on February 1-2 through CazArts.

5PM-7PM: Torch-Lit Cross Country Ski at Lorenzo State Historic Site Parking available in the visitor parking lot. The skiing will be around the back agricultural field illuminated by torch light. Horse-drawn sleigh rides will be available around the property. BYO-skis & dress warmly!

6PM-8PM: Cellar Open at Meier's Creek Brewing Company If you haven't seen the cellar at MCBC you are missing out! They will be featuring The British Blacksmith making "Colonial Hot Flips" on the back terrace (weather dependent) This drink that combines dark beer, rum and honey – and stirred with a pippin' hot poker! They will also have LIVE MUSIC from Ben & Sarah.
