Fred Clayton was born in 1958, in Birmingham, Alabama. At the Age of 11, he moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where he started studying music at the Elma Lewis School of Fine Arts. Later, he moved to Western Massachusetts where he met his inspirations; Archie Shepp, Marion Brown, Steve McCraven, and Avery Sharpe. Settling on Cape Cod in 2005, Fred runs a blues jam every Sunday night at O'Sheas Olde Inne. For the past 5 years, he has been organizing the Summer Concert Series at the Michael K. Aselton Memorial Park, Barnstable..
