This is a free and fun annual parade composed of local business owners and organizations. Everyone meets on Hinman Street in the Village of Youngstown by 11:30 a.m. The Parade is led by Robert Emerson - Director of Old Fort Niagara and his group of musicians and soldiers. We march from Hinman Street to Main Street marching north towards Falkner Park.
Everyone turns around facing south and stopping at the Ontario House aka The Jug. There Mr. Emerson will salute former mayor Neil Riordan with his soldiers. Followed by the salute there will be music offered by the MacKenzie Pipes and Drums and hopefully some Irish dancers! Afterwards the crowd gathers at The Jug to learn who the winners are (a prize for the best children's float as well as the best adult float).
Some floats are actually decorated shopping carts from the very first parade. We encourage everyone to visit the local establishments for food and beverages and even shopping. Let us know if you are interested
