Blending text, improvisation, and ensemble choreography, (y)OURS explores ideas of connection, surrender, and inclusivity through an intergenerational cast of Bay Area artists. Performed by an intergenerational cast of dancers, the performance invites audiences to consider how dance can hold both individuality and shared experience - a throughline connecting these three artists' decades of collaboration.
Featured Works:
Marcos Duran / Moving Works - Re/Union
An enigmatic trio inspired by bees pollinating lavender, Re/Union weaves oral histories of Marcos Duran's Indigenous and Mexican roots in San José. The work includes a participatory pre-show with voiceovers from his grandparents and designs by Kirstyn Hom and Carlos Rios-Dominguez.
Jenni Hong - beast cake
Crude, funny, and unapologetically physical, beast cake riffs on Jean Baudrillard's hyperreality, blending K-pop gloss and raw reality. Featuring a BIPOC cast across Tokyo, Taipei, San José, and San Francisco, Hong's work probes the line between fantasy and truth.
Elise Knudson - Ingress
Ingress explores ways of arriving in relationship through a multigenerational cast and collaborative research with Risa Jaroslow and Scott Marlowe. The work embodies connection and fluidity between improvisation and set choreography.
