11:30 a.m.
Ricky Ede , a San José State University masters student studying lava flows on Axial Seamount and Columbia River Basalt on the Oregon Coast. His talk – What happens when lava meets the sea? Learn about the fiery formation of Cape Foulweather, Yaquina Head and Depoe Bay as well as our ongoing relationship with Oregon's coastline.
1:30p.m.
Marli Miller, an Earth sciences faculty member at the University of Oregon since 1997, is a geologist, photographer and author of the new second edition
of Roadside Geology of Oregon as well as Oregon Rocks, a guide to 60 amazing geological sites. Her work showcases the state's splendor while also helping enthusiasts understand geologic processes at work.
Talks are given in the Civic Meeting Room, just inside the east entrance.
12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m: Agate Window Tour
The Yachats Community Presbyterian Church, also known as the Church of the Agate Windows, will offer a brief talk about the story behind the amazing six large panels of agates located in the sanctuary of the church. The church is located on 7th Street just to the west of the Yachats Commons.

Doug Sestrich, has been a Central Coast Beach Ranger for the past eight years, working for Oregon State Parks for nearly 20 years. His talk is centered around Beach safety with tips and tricks for beginner agate hunting.
