The 25th Annual Deer Isle Jazz Festival presents two evenings of modern jazz mastery with headliner Quentin Baxter. Baxter’s unique skill sets as a drummer, composer and more have garnered a Grammy Award and four Grammy nominations as a producer/performer. Baxter’s passion for performance is paralleled by his dedication to educate, promote, produce, and present world-class artists.

Drummer Quentin Baxter and his band blend modern jazz with the Gullah traditions of his native Charleston, South Carolina.

This evening’s performance will open with the Yvonne Rogers Trio.

Saturday, July 19 at 7pm

Quentin Baxter’s African Marketplace-Celebrating Abdullah Ibrahim

Baxter and his band celebrate the influence of renowned South African pianist through new arrangements and compositions that honor his legacy.

The evening’s opening act will be the George Stevens Academy Upright Expression, directed by Phelan Gallagher.
