South St. Paul Parks and Recreation invites you to join us in celebrating the 2nd Annual Flannel Fest. We have some exciting events planned to get you out and about in your coziest flannels.

February 5, 2023

9:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m: Flapjacks and Flannels at Croatian Hall, 445 2nd Ave S
Cost: Children $5, Adults $10
We’re kicking off Flannel Fest at the Croatian Hall on Sunday, February 5th. Wear your finest flannel for our fabulous flapjacks, eggs and sausage breakfast. Proceeds will be donated to the Parks and Recreation Youth Programs.

February 6, 2023

12:00 p.m - 2:00 p.m: Lumberjack Lanes at Jefferson Park, 125 21st Ave N
Ice Bowling Sledding Skating
What more could you want on your day off of school
Bring your skates, sleds, and bowling boots. Meet us at Jefferson Park for our 1st ice bowling event. We will have a couple of ice bowling lanes ready for you, so try a frame or two. Enjoy the sledding hill and ice rink as well. South St. Paul Police department will be providing hot cocoa.

February 10, 2023

5:00 p.m - 7:00 p.m: Starlight Sledding at Jefferson Park, 125 21st Ave N
Join us for some starlight activities by grabbing your skates and sleds and meeting us at Jefferson Park. We are going starlight sledding. Stop by the police tent to warm up with hot chocolate and fresh cookies.

February 11, 2023

10:00 a.m: Babe's Boot  Hockey Tournament at Lorraine Park, 756 3rd Ave S
Join us for some friendly competition by participating in one of Minnesota’s greatest winter activities: (boot) hockey. Our 2nd annual adult boot hockey tournament will take place February 11th. Bracket play will start at 10:00am; double elimination and games will be officiated.
$100 tournament fee must be paid in full before 1st game.
Free for spectators.

12:00 p.m - 2:00 p.m:Hotdish Showdown at Lorraine Park, 756 3rd Ave S
Come one, come all. We have a delicious and hearty cook-off for you, dontcha' know. Judging will be done by everyone through popular vote/secret ballot. Tasting/judging will begin at 12pm and the winners will be announced at 2pm. Tell your friends and family to come along to help vote for your favorite recipe.

Registration:
Any type of Hotdish is welcome.
Hotdish should be served in a 6-quart crockpot Only - We wouldn’t want anyone running out of hotdish to serve while others are still giving out samples.
Hotdish makers are Required to bring their own extension cord - We will supply outlets and power.
Registrants are responsible for transportation and food safety practices.
Dakota County requires all hotdish that is Not made in a commercial kitchen to be labeled “This product is homemade and not subject to state inspection”.
Labels must include the maker’s name and address in which the hotdish was prepared.
Samples are available only as supplies last.

Flannel Fest Forager
February 6 - 11, 2023
Get those snow boots and gloves out! We’re going on a quest! Monday, February 6th, the first clue of the snow series medallion hunt will be released at noon. Subsequent clues will be released each day at noon through February 11th, or until the medallion has been found. Checkout our website or Facebook page for rules and daily clues.
