The Mighty Moo Festival and Reunion is held each Father’s Day weekend in June.

Over the past 47 years, this event has provided a reunion opportunity for crew members of the USS Cowpens CVL25 who served in WWII and those from the USS Cowpens CG63, which is currently serving in our US Navy’s fleet. Each year the veterans and their families return to our town to celebrate their history and service to our country.

6:00 PM - USS Cowpens Crewmen vs. D3 Youth Sports at Red Moore Field

7:00 PM - The Cowpens Depot - Book Release/Author Talk with: Nathan Canestaro
Author of "The Mighty Moo" The USS Cowpens and her Epic
World War II Journey from Jinx Ship to the Navy's
First Carrier into Tokyo Bay (Followed by book signing).

7:00 PM - Gospel Singing at Veteran Park

8:30 Am - Golf Tournament At Woodfin Ridge

Check In Begins At 8:30 Am, Shotgun Start At 9:30 Am
Lunch Will Be Provided. Proceeds Will Benefit District Three Blessings

All Youngsters (Under 12) Are Invited To Hop On Their Bicycles Or Be Pulled Along
In A Wagon, Ride Their Tricycles, Strollers, As Part Of A “Walking Parade” Designed
Just For Them! Children Get Your Moms And Dads To Help You Decorate Your Unit
In Red, White, And Blue To Honor Our Veterans. There Will Be A Contest And Winners
Will Be Announced During Opening Ceremonies In Veterans Park, Around 11:30 A.M.
Following The Veterans Walk Of Honor.
