Aric Nesbitt and Mike Cox have been silent, do they also support gutting Medicaid and closing hospitals?

LANSING - As DC Republicans, including John James, barrel towards gutting Medicaid all to give tax cuts to billionaires, a new report from a Michigan state Senate committee shows that the Republican plan will have disastrous effects across Michigan, with nearly 500,000 Michiganders at risk of losing their healthcare, hospital and clinic closures, and “thousands of workers being laid off from their jobs.”

Congressman John James has voted for gutting Medicaid and lobbyist Tom Leonard, when asked about the cuts, said “Yes, I support that. 100%.” Nesbitt’s counterpart in the state House, Republican Speaker Matt Hall, has also already gleefully announced his support.

Republican gubernatorial candidates Aric Nesbitt and Mike Cox have been silent so far, but Michiganders deserve to know if Nesbitt and Cox also support gutting Medicaid?

“Gutting Medicaid will have disastrous consequences on communities across Michigan, with nearly 500,000 people at risk of losing their healthcare and thousands of workers being laid off from their jobs,” said Michigan Democratic Party Spokesman Derrick Honeyman. “With the future of Michigan at stake, folks deserve to know if Republican gubernatorial candidates Aric Nesbitt and Mike Cox also support these extreme cuts to Medicaid?”
